Breathability, fit, and sweat
Three inputs. They all have to work at the same time, or none of them work.

Every cap is trying to solve the same three problems: air has to move, the hat has to stay put, and sweat has to go somewhere that isn't your eyes. Miss any one and the other two collapse.
Breathability without airflow is a story
A "breathable" claim without visible perforation or structured side vents is marketing. Real airflow comes from laser-cut holes or vented panels large enough to move air through the crown while you're moving.
Fit without adjustability is a coin flip
One-size structured caps compromise the fit for most heads. A serious performance range offers either multiple structured sizes or a real rear closure with meaningful range.
Sweat without a sweatband is a leak
If the interior band is thin, glued, or slick, sweat rolls off the brow line and down your face. A stretch band layered over a sweat-control film moves moisture sideways along the brow so it can evaporate through the vented shell, rather than soaking straight into the outer panels.
These three things aren't features. They're the hat.
