Structured vs low-profile performance hats

Two philosophies of crown geometry. Neither is right for every use.

A structured crown holds its shape whether you're wearing the cap or not. A low-profile crown collapses closer to the head and reads softer. Both have real trade-offs.

Structured

Better airflow — the crown holds space above the head. More support during dynamic movement. Reads more athletic. Slightly heavier. Doesn't pack as flat.

Low-profile

Lighter. Less peripheral-vision intrusion on the road. Reads more refined. Trades some airflow because the crown sits closer to the head. Packs flatter for travel.

How NOGNS splits it

The APEX Hydro is the structured five-panel training cap: a crown that holds space above the head for airflow, with laser-perforated side ventilation.
